Taming Trauma strives to do no harm. To accomplish our goal of dialectic communication, our onboard survivors vet our incarcerated participants to ensure that we do not inadvertently pair people who have had an adverse history.
We also provide the list below of incarcerated persons who participate in our program as a warning for those who wish to avoid contact, or for people who are interested in the rehabilitative strides of people who once harmed them. Taming Trauma will continuously add the names of incarcerated people who participate in our programs so that survivors can be forewarned of their presence on the site.
To view the voluntary and extraordinary interactions between people who have been harmed and people who have harmed, visit CNN or YouTube with Van Jones, called: "The Redemption Project".
Either process is designed to engender empathy, guilt, remorse and accountability from people who have harmed, and, it is our hope, that these procedures empower people who have been harmed to understand, process, and contextualize their victimization in the pursuit of healing.

Disclaimer: The Taming Trauma family is composed of every day people who operate and share lived experiences. No one representing Taming Trauma is licensed in any of the formal helping fields. We provide general lay guidance to known healing modalities, as well as links to licensed and other professionals in the world community. Our goal is to foster a healing community through companionship, accountability partnerships and mentorships.
Privacy Statement: The Taming Trauma outreach program is primarily an online entity. Due to the inherent openness of the internet, we cannot guarantee any privacy. Through digital media such as this website, YouTube (link), and Zoom, among others, we foster offline education, trauma-informed communication and community partnerships where participants can enjoy private meetings that are conducive for the types of vulnerability required to pursue access to deep healing. Therefore we discourage any vulnerable communication that is intended to be private on any Taming Trauma media.
Taming Trauma is the first vicarious restorative justice program established by an incarcerated person.
