Interested in Volunteering with us?

The Taming Trauma structure operates as a Commons Society and relies completely on support from the community. In that vein we seek the following assistance: 


  • A Researcher, someone we can occasionally reach out to for Google and other searches.
  • A Recorder,  someone who can record videos of testimonies, interviews, etc.
  • Someone trained in trauma-informed care who can teach others or respond to someone who has been inadvertently triggered during an interaction
  • A Facilitator who can guide online community members who want to initiate a Taming Trauma Community Pod. 
  • A person trained in Communications who we can rely on from time to time to vet our public communications.
  • A person who has experience with GoFundMe campaigns.
  • Someone experienced with navigating YouTube.
  • Anyone ready to share their story and contribute to our ongoing dialogue.
  • Create and maintain Facebook and Instagram accounts

Through digital media such as this website, YouTube (link), and Zoom, among others, we foster offline education, trauma-informed communication and community partnerships where participants can enjoy private meetings that are conducive for the types of vulnerability required to pursue access to deep healing. Therefore we discourage any vulnerable communication that is intended to be private on any Taming Trauma media. 

Taming Trauma is the first vicarious restorative justice program established by an incarcerated person.
